I’ve been tattooing for over two decades.
That’s a long time to do one thing, and over the years I’ve tattooed just about everything you can imagine.
Someone recently asked if I can tattoo a dog paw print — yes, of course I can, but I’m choosing to spend my time on more complex work.
So—Yes — I can tattoo a dog paw print.
Or I can tattoo a photo-realistic portrait of your entire dog.
Yes — I can also do names, lettering, color, Japanese, American traditional, neo-traditional, fine line.
The question isn’t “can” I do it. The question is where my focus is right now — and what kind of work I’m choosing to put my energy into at this stage of my career.
At this point, I’m not interested in repeating concepts I’ve already explored hundreds of times. Literally hundreds. (Think dandelions with birds flying off, infinity symbols, etc..) It’s nothing personal, I swear!
I’m focused on projects that challenge me creatively, push my technical ability, and allow me to deliver something far beyond what most people expect a tattoo can be — especially here in Vermont.
That’s why I’m prioritizing:
⭐️Full black and gray realism
⭐️Large-scale projects and sleeves
⭐️Original concepts designed by me
⭐️Work that requires planning, structure, and depth — not just execution
A dog paw print versus a fully realized portrait is a good way to illustrate this difference. Both are valid tattoos. Both have meaning. But one allows for far more storytelling, artistry, and technical range than the other — and that’s where my heart is right now.
If someone wants a simple symbol, a small floral, or a basic memorial design, there are many capable in tattooers in Vermont who specialize in that kind of work. I’m genuinely happy to point people in that direction. (Or if you’re an existing client-you can always hit me up, of course ❤️) What I’m doing here is different. I’m saving my appointment slots for clients who want to elevate their idea — who are open to complexity, scale, and collaboration — and who trust me to design something that goes well beyond the obvious choice.
This isn’t about being “too good” for certain tattoos. It’s about being intentional with my time, my energy, and the work I put into the world. If you’re looking for a deeply considered, high-impact black and gray piece built from the ground up — that’s exactly where I shine, and that’s the work I’m excited to take on right now.
